Special protection kits
The WELP Group makes use of its long-proven and still innovative armouring technology with special protection kits for manufacturing of specially protected vehicles. These consist of ready-to-install armouring modules and can be bolted together inside the vehicle.
Building together the individual components creates a self-supporting passenger compartment, which in contrast to completely welded parts, retains certain flexibility even under highest strain.
Furthermore individual armouring components can be easily reordered and replaced when needed. Smaller maintenance work can even be carried out directly on site and without direct access to workshops.
The individual components of each armouring kits are manufactured in our module processing unit and are placed as kits into special racks. Subsequently, the racks equipped with armouring modules receive a cathodic dip coating to protect them against corrosion damage. Each special protection kit is bound for an armoured vehicle.

We produce ready-to-fit armouring kits for customised individual vehicles as well as exclusive special editions made by German automobile manufacturers. Due to our many years’ experience in the manufacture of armouring solutions for the automotive industry, we have established ourselves as an OEM system supplier of armouring kits. We cover all the tasks that the process entails, from engineering to project management to prototyping and the timely delivery of the finished kits via our own logistics operation.
We produce armouring kits and components for the automotive OEM sector (armour plating, mechanical systems and interiors) that are designed using the Catia V5 engineering tool to ensure that they fit perfectly in your vehicle. As the armouring components are supplied as bolt-together kits, they are assembled by means of screw-in connections. The advantages: Bolting together individual modules results in less strain on the standard body than conventional welding, as the underlying material is not subject to any thermal load. This configuration also allows individual modules to be removed for maintenance work. This high-precision approach to armouring has proven its worth in the field.
